This opportunity will support the organization's online presence by managing and creating content for social media platforms to increase our brand awareness, engage with the online community, promote stories of transformation and drive traffic to the organization's website and other resources.

DUTIES:

Formulate high-quality, original written and visual content (e.g., graphics using Canva, short videos) tailored for different platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).

Monitor and manage our online communities by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner, ensuring respectful and appropriate engagement.

Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns for fundraising efforts, awareness initiatives, volunteer recruitment and events.

Collaborate with the communications team to align social media efforts with overall messaging, research relevant community groups to join, and stay updated on social media trends.

Track and analyze data and metrics to measure the success of campaigns and determine areas for improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous volunteer or professional experience in social media management or marketing is desirable but not essential.

Excellent written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms.

Proficiency with various social media platforms and familiarity with social media management/analytics tools (e.g. Meta, Hootsuite, Buffer) and content creation software.

Skills in areas like graphic design, photography, or audio/video editing are often a plus.

Creativity, a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as a part of the team.

Passion for the organization's mission.
COMMITMENT:

A flexible time commitment, typically 4 hours per week, depending on organizational needs and upcoming campaigns.

A minimum 6-month commitment, ongoing.

This is a virtual/remote position, though some in-person attendance may be required for local events.
