EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

An Administrative Assistant will provide support to the Executive Director while working remotely. This will require support on the administrative side of ramp construction to keep the organization running smoothly. There will be some interaction with applicants or those wanting information. APPLICANT VALIDATION

This role will determine whether the applicant is an appropriate candidate for a SAWs Virginia ramp, based on observable medical disabilities and assets for final approval. Medical or physical therapy experience is required. (virtual role)

CAD DESIGNERS

OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

This role will provide administrative support to the Operations Manager assisting with client and volunteer communications.

SITE SURVEYORS

Site surveyors collect measurements and characteristics of the site to determine the best design for the ramp to be built on the site. The results of the survey will provide the raw data needed by the CAD designer to design the ramp and determine the raw materials needed to build it. (virtual role)

RAMP PRE-BUILDS

As a CAD Designer, you will provide design support for our organization's projects. The role involves creating accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings based on information provided by the site surveyors. This is a great opportunity for students, recent graduates, or experienced professionals to use their skills for a meaningful cause, build their portfolio, and gain practical experience in a collaborative environment. Pre-builds are conducted indoors at our Fredericksburg workshop. Volunteers for this role will cut and preassemble ramp components for upcoming builds. No experience is required. RAMP INSTALLATIONS

The final assembly of preassembled ramp components on location is the moment when the clients’ dreams come true and can be an emotional moment. Work with a spirited team of volunteers to make a life-changing difference in someone’s world. No experience is required. Experienced volunteers will instruct you. Men and women can participate. MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS

This is a role for those who love to create narratives of human struggle and resolution. Stories of independence regained, and life changes are part of every ramp we build. This role will support the organization's mission by assisting with media outreach, public relations, and content creation for our digital platforms and local media. You will help raise awareness of our work, engage the community, and enhance the organization's public image through storytelling and strategic communications. Click here for more detail. PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY

If you love telling stories through images, this role may be for you. Photos and videos are important to document the efforts of our dedicated volunteers and the impact of their work.
