We are dedicated to changing the lives of individuals confined to their homes while also offering a profound and enriching experience for the volunteers who serve them. Volunteers power our mission and are the heart of our organization.

Volunteer and you will be enriched.

This is a role for those who love to create narratives of human struggle and resolution. Stories of independence regained, and life changes are part of every ramp we build. In this role, you will support the organization's mission by assisting with media outreach, public relations, and content creation for our digital platforms and local media. You will help raise awareness of our work, engage the community, and enhance the organization's public image through storytelling and strategic communications. Click here for more detail. Social Media

This opportunity will support the organization's online presence by managing and creating content for social media platforms to increase our brand awareness, engage with the online community, promote stories of transformation and drive traffic to the organization's website and other resources. If you love telling stories through images, this role may be for you. Photos and videos are important to document the efforts of our dedicated volunteers and the impact of their work on those we serve.Click here for more detail.

Hospitality

Grant Writers

Grant writing is critical to the survival of any nonprofit. As a volunteer grant writer, you will develop compelling grant proposals and manage the submission process, directly contributing to our financial health and community impact. SAWs Virginia is an 501(c)3 nonprofit that works to restore the freedom, independence and dignity of impoverished ambulatory disabled persons allowing them to more easily access medical services, improve the safety of their home, reconnect with their community and age-in-place regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion or creed.
