Project Manager (PM)
If you like building things and see a tangible result working with a dedicated team, this role might be for you. The PM is responsible for the installation of each ramp assigned to him/her. This work begins upon approval by SAWs VA administration whereby the client application has been reviewed, the need confirmed, all documentation has been received and the survey has been approved. The PM is provided the name, address and phone number of the client and basic plans by the Operations Manager.
SUPERVISED BY: Operations Manager
DUTIES:

Work with the CAD designer and Operations Manager to complete the Ramp Design based on the data collected through the Site Survey.

Designs may be hand drawn or sketched using a computer application.

Complete the ramp materials list and cut list.

Coordinate with the SAWs Operations Manager to procure the required materials.

Coordinate with volunteers to complete the pre-build based on the ramp design and the cut lists.

Coordinate with volunteers to transport tools and materials to the build site

Complete the build.

Document builds with pictures of the finished ramp and team.

Report any irregularities or lessons learned to the Operations Manager and Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to create, read, and understand design drawings and design terminology.

Experience using basic carpentry tools.

Ability to create materials lists and cut lists based on designs,

Ability to lead a team of 6-12 volunteers, who may have little technical knowledge or skills, in pre-building and building wheelchair ramps

TIME COMMITMENT REQUIRED:

This may be a certain number of hours per week or month, or it may be a specific day and time.
LOCATION:

Work will be performed in the workshop and on location of installation.
TRAINING:

Initial training is online-based video and slides.

Detailed training will be on-the-job shadowing experienced PM’s.
