CAD Design

The CAD Designer role will provide design support for our organization's projects. The role involves creating accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings based on data provided by the site survey team. This is a great opportunity for students, recent graduates, or experienced professionals to use their skills for a meaningful cause, build their portfolio, and gain practical experience in a collaborative environment.

SUPERVISED BY:  Operations Manager

 

DUTIES:

  • Create, modify, and update detailed technical drawings and schematics using CAD software.

  • Translate sketches, and concepts into accurate digital models.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and other volunteers to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback.

  • Maintain an organized and complete archive of project design files.

  • Conduct quality checks on completed designs to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Revise plans as requested during the project lifecycle.

  • Assist with creating supporting technical documents

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or SketchUp is essential.

  • A solid understanding of drafting principles and technical drawing standards.

  • The ability to be meticulous and precise in creating designs and interpreting specifications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with the project team.

  • The capacity to address design challenges and propose creative solutions.

  • Reliability and the ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

  • A cooperative attitude and willingness to work closely with other volunteers and staff.

 

TIME COMMITMENT REQUIRED:

  • The commitment can vary based on project needs and the volunteer's availability.

  • This position can be performed remotely, with weekly or as-needed virtual meetings with the project team.

 

LOCATION:

  • This position can be performed remotely.

  • On the job training will be provided
